What We Believe

The Nature of God

We believe that there is one God, the heavenly Father, who is holy and all powerful, who created all things and who exists in loving relationship with His creation. This one God exists eternally in the three persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The Son, Jesus Christ, is the One who was fully God and fully human, who came and lived among us. His was a life of perfect obedience, teaching God’s good news, and dying on the cross for our sins. But He was raised from the dead and lives now and forever as the Redeemer of mankind.

The Holy Spirit is God’s active presence and power in all believers and for the world.

Human Nature

We believe human beings are created in God’s image and designed for fellowship with God. Human beings, by our sinful and rebellious nature, are estranged from God and deserve his condemnation. As a result human beings have a basic need to be redeemed from sin and restored to fellowship with God.

Who We Are in Relation to God

We believe that God has acted lovingly through Jesus Christ, by His life, death and resurrection, to redeem us from sin and restore us to fellowship with God. It is by God’s grace, through faith, that we receive Him, our brokenness is healed, and we enjoy fellowship with God and the Christian family, both now and for eternity.

We believe the Scriptures of the Bible are inspired by God and are the authority for what we believe and how we are to live, The Scriptures are made alive by the Holy Spirit and are to be conscientiously read and obeyed.

The Church

We believe the Church is created by the Holy Spirit, and comprised of those who are called together into Christ’s Body by grace through faith, and called out to minister in Christ’s name. The Cooper Mountain Presbyterian Fellowship is one expression of this universal Church, standing within the Reformed and Presbyterian traditions.

Our Call and Mission

We believe the Cooper Mountain Presbyterian Fellowship is called to participate in and further Christ’s mission on earth and in our community. We are called to be a family of faith, to grow as responsible disciples, to share Christ’s good news with others by welcoming them into the family, to minister through caring and prayer, to reach out in compassionate service to others and to worship God together!

Our eternal hope is in Christ our redeemer!
