We believe that God has made us to be in relationship with him, and that we discover who we are meant to be when we seek to Glorify God. Glorifying God is our core mission. When we measure everything that we think and do against this statement we discover our purpose in life and live joyfully in the service of Jesus Christ.
We accomplish our mission of glorifying God by:
- Worshiping God
- Making disciples
- Serving others
These are not three separate activities that happen only at certain times and places. Each of these three core objectives helps us pursue our mission of glorifying God as we integrate them into our lives. We strive to live all of life in an attitude of worship, with an eye to share the good news and invite others to be followers of Jesus, and to continually look for ways to serve.
We have identified three core values that stand at the center of who we are at Cooper Mountain Presbyterian:
- We value a relationship with Christ. This is worked out and demonstrated as we seek spiritual growth through prayer, study, worship, fellowship, and service.
- We value God’s word. God’s word in the Bible comes alive to us through biblically based sermons, Bibles studies, Sunday school classes, and individual Bible study.
- We value people. All people are precious in God’s sight. We heartily welcome newcomers, pray and care for one another, seek to serve those in need, and enjoy the fellowship of people who together are on a journey with Christ.
As we seek to glorify God, pursue our core objectives, and uphold our values we believe that we will be a beacon of hope to our neighbors and the world.
“You are the light of the world… let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”
