Upcoming Events, Announcements & Meetings

August Food Drive … In addition to regular food donations, this month’s food pantry emergency extra-purchase food item is sugar.  Your donations help the community and embody Jesus’ compassion in a hungry world.

Hazeldale Back to School Supplies … Our Back-to-School Supplies for Hazeldale Elementary has been a great outreach to the Hazeldale community.  We always get positive response from parents and teachers.  We get a master list of supplies from the school and then search for sales to fulfill the order.  We will again be able to acquire all the supplies but we do want to keep costs down in order to keep the program sustainable.  We still have not purchased #2 Ticonderoga Pencils, Pink Erasers and Glue Sticks.  You can help.  If you are willing to help and see bargains on any of these items, feel free to purchase and bring to church on Sunday (give to John England).  Office Depot has a sale on the #2 Ticonderoga Pencils (12 pack for $1) and Pink Erasers (3 pack for $1) but there is a limit of 3 per customer.  The sale ends this Saturday.  Thank you, John England

Circle of Grace Women’s Bible Study … So far we have 10 ladies registered for our fall to winter study that begins September 12.  It is a Beth Moore study: “Living Beyond Yourself – Exploring Fruits of the Spirit”.  Sign up for the study on the table in the Fellowship Hall or contact Donna Manning.

IT’S A HOUSE RULE … Please, no food or drink in the sanctuary!  This is an agreement in our lease with Reedville.  Thank you to all who help us be good renters.  Questions: Contact Donna Manning

Small Groups … This time of year is a good time to consider forming a new small group for Fall.  Please consider hosting a group in your home or leading a group in a host home.  Everyone in our congregation is encouraged to participate in a small group.  Contact Donna Manning for information.

New “Mailing Address” for CMPF … Effective 3/17/17, CMPF’s new “mailing address” is:
17675 SW Farmington Rd.
PMB 432
Beaverton, OR 97007

Hazeldale “Box Tops for Education” … Please remember to continue saving your box tops!  Hazeldale is still currently participating in the box top program, and the school would greatly appreciate our continued support.  While we are still worshipping at Hazeldale you can drop off your box tops in the big box located outside Hazeldale’s school office.

Sunday Morning Fellowship … Part of the joy of coming together for worship each Sunday is the opportunity for fellowship after the service – and a treat to go with that makes it even better!  Fellowship treats were originally an activity of the Congregational Life Team.  As a part of this team, as it disbanded, I felt it important to continue the weekly sharing.  It is a joy and honor to serve in this small but important way – but it would be welcome, now, to share the responsibility!  If you would like to be a “bringer of treats”, I will have a sign-up sheet available near the treats on Sundays.  If you have questions, please ask…I appreciate your participation.  Lila Wilson – Coffee Deacon

Book Rack … During the church renovation we do not have access to the building and library.  However, for new books and suggestions for a small group book study, please ontact Donna Manning for further information.

Hazeldale SMART Reading Program Looking for a way to regularly connect with kids in our community?  The SMART Reading Program at Hazeldale is back again this year, and it continues to grow thanks to your support!  Reading times will be weekly on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings and several more volunteers are needed.  Please contact our coordinator, Barb Rosenberger,  (rbbbeam (at), if you would like to volunteer or would just like more information.
